Aricept

Aricept is not a cure for Alzheimer’s disease but it can be useful in treating some of the symptoms and offering a better quality of life to the patient. It can also be useful in treating various forms of dementia. Aricept is not yet available in generic form but that could change with time.

There are Aricept side effects that you should be aware of. The more serious side effects include weight loss, severe sweating, diarrhea, changes in vision, balance problems, dizziness, skin rash, hives, fainting spells, falling, problems with urinating, confusion, nervousness, agitation, slow heartbeat, heart palpitations, uncontrollable movements, stomach pain, unusual bleeding, vomiting, bruising, and red spots on your skin. If you present any of the above you should contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Less severe or less serious side effects include drowsiness, loss of appetite, mild diarrhea, headache, indigestion, nausea, muscle cramps, and joint pain.

Aricept 10 mg tablets are a common level of dosage for the Aricept medicine. The effectiveness of Aricept is usually dependent on the individual. It may work wonders for some people, and be not as effective in others. Aricept effectiveness should be determined by a qualified medical professional.

There have been some rare cases where the use of Aricept in traumatic brain injury has shown improvement in the patient.
