What is Naproxen? Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory medication. It relieves pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and juvenile (childhood) arthritis. Naproxen is also effective in treating mild to moderate pain, including menstrual pain, headache, toothache, and temporarily reduces fever.

Naproxen should only be used in children who are over 12 years old. Generic naproxen tablets and delayed-release tablets are available.

All of the above should be reported immediately to your primary health care provider. Less serious Naproxen side effects include diarrhea or constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, and vomiting.

The usual dosage is 500mg Naproxen, but your primary health care provider may suggest a different dosage. The Naproxen 500mg tablet should be taken with water. Children should not use the Naproxen 500 mg tablet.
