Zomig

Zomig is a special type of drug. The Zomig nasal spray is used to help treat migraine headaches. As of this writing, Zomig generic brands are not yet available. This may change in the future.

There are Zomig side effects that you should know about if you are using or planning to use this medication. Some side effects include such things as chest or throat pain, tightness Dizziness, faintness, fast or irregular heart beat, feeling of chest heaviness or pressure, increased blood pressure, palpitations, severe stomach pain and cramping, bloody diarrhea, shortness of breath, wheezing, difficulty breathing, tingling, pain, or numbness in the face, hands or feet; unusual reaction or swelling of the skin, eyelids, face, or lips.

There are other side effects that are less severe. These include such things as drowsiness, dry mouth, feeling warm, flushing, sweating or redness of the face, muscle pain or cramps, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, or difficulty swallowing, tiredness or weakness, and unusual taste in your mouth.

Your primary health care provider can explain the side effects to you. He or she may also wish to discuss the Zomig and relpax interaction issues that may be important to you.

Your primary health care provider must be told of any drugs or medications that you are currently taking. There can be drug interactions with this drug and your doctor must know what medications you are taking before he or she can safely prescribe this one to you.

Your doctor may want to discuss Imitrex vs Zomig with you and explain why he is prescribing one over the other. He or she may be able to show you where you can get free Zomig if you are unable to pay for your medication.

The Zomig headache medication works well for most patients but if you notice any of the severe side effects you should consult with your doctor as soon as possible. It is very important that you follow the Zomig nasal spray directions in order to avoid any of the Zomig danger effects.

In many cases the normal dosage is the Zomig 25 mg formula but you must follow the dosage that your primary health care provider prescribes.
